Until the end of the session, the participants will:

K- learn about non-formal learning methods to be engaged in
physical and mental exercises
K- discover the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle in the
everyday life

AB- be able to participate actively in non-formal methods
involving physical and mental exercises
AB- be able to use these methods in everyday life to confront
stress, anxiety and adopt an approach towards well-being

AT- be motivated to adopt a healthier lifestyle
AT- integrate physical and mental exercises in everyday life

ACTIVITY PLACE Either Indoors or Outdoors

COMMENTS The materials and the equipment could be different according to the
availability of the group, the workshop and the project in general.

STEP BY STEP
for facilitators

IMPLEMENTATION The participants are going to be divided in groups of 3-5 equal teams
of 5-9 people each. At first each group will be given a paper with a
different task to be completed by each different group. After 10-15
minutes the facilitator will inform the groups to change papers, so that
a different task will be completed by each group. This change of
papers will take place again until all groups have completed all tasks.

DETAILS/NOTES: The tasks that could be given to the participants include:

  1. Puzzle Games, like Sudoku or Chess Exercises
  2. Memory Stimulating Games
  3. Kinaesthetic and Flexibility Exercises
  4. Balance Exercises
  5. Meditation and Yoga
  6. Dances

AFTER THE
ACTIVITY

The participants will stay in a group circle sitting on the chairs or on
the floor for debriefing.

DEBRIEFING 1. How did you feel working in the team?

  1. What did you like the most in this session? Which task-
    exercise motivated you the most?
  2. What was the most difficult part of the session?
  3. Did you feel included in the team?
  4. What did you think you improved during the tasks-exercises?
  5. Did you achieve the common goals set for your team? Was it
    easy for you?
  6. Did you feel uncomfortable in any way? Why?

RISKS 1. Unwillingness of the seniors to participate in the tasks-
exercises.

  1. Lack of motivation to complete the tasks.
  2. Possibility of feeling uncomfortable or embarassed due to
    inability to achieve or fulfill the physical and the mental
    exercises and tasks.

OPTIONS The facilitator will encourage all participants to be motivated to
participate actively in all tasks and exercises for achieving the
common group goals through social interaction and for promoting a
healthier lifestyle and well-being.
